Woody Vines

The three native woody vines that have volunteered at Wildergarden are Virginia Creeper, wild grape and poison Ivy. Each plays a role in our ecosystem. 

English Ivy has been growing here since before we began. We manage it, cut it back, and observe our wildlife reaping some benefit from its flowers. We recommend native vines and do not encourage English Ivy as a landscaping choice.
