Invertebrates

A majority of  invertebrates are invisible to the inattentive eye. Several of the invertebrates captured on camera were not even noticed until we looked at a large version of the image! If you can’t see any critters in a photo, they are probably hiding. They often are small and move quickly (or are on something that is being moved by the wind), so getting a good photo can be difficult.

Invertebrates include insects, spiders, worms, mollusks (e.g. snails and slugs), and arthropods (e.g. pill bugs).

Most flowers are either wind or insect pollinated. Insects and other invertebrates are essential to our ecosystem.
